As the United States commemorates Memorial Day (and the weekend that precedes it) in honor of its fallen soldiers - men and women - I thought I would share some photos I took last week at the Manila American Cemetery in Fort Bonifacio (Taguig, Philippines).
I'm not sure if you can see much detail in my i-Phone photos, but so many headstones are inscribed with the words, “Here Rests In Honored Glory A COMRADE IN ARMS Known But to God.” So many crosses and stars cast such a long shadow.
To those who have served, those who continue to do so, and those who will one day stand against oppression, cruelty and injustice, thank you. And I hope, many Happy Travels are in your future.
