In May and June, Guam hosted delegations from twenty-eight nations and territories of the Pacific in the quadrennial cultural festival known as the Festival of Pacific Arts. The cultural exchange celebrates dance, music and art of the diverse islands of Oceania, and I was able to attend several of the exhibitions – although looking back, I wish I could have attended many more.
The experience was nothing short of sensational, and chants and dances were mesmerizing. I have included a slideshow of some of the dance exhibitions that I attended.
