Plaza de España

PacificTravelBlogger

Updated: Jul 11, 2020

In the middle-ish of Guam's capital city, Hagåtña, lies part of the colonial Spanish Governor's Palace named the Plaza de España. Yes, there is one in Barcelona, and in Madrid, and in Seville (which was in Star Wars and in Game of Thrones), and probably a few more places, but we're not talking about those places. Focus... we're talking about the one on Guam.

Much of the Governor's Palace compound was destroyed during World War II. But there are some structures that survived the war, and other structures that have been restored or rebuilt to make up one of my favorite tourist sites on Guam - the Plaza de España.

Here are some photos I recently took.
